Question: "My films are so old .. can you tell if they are any good?"
Answer: If your films have not been in a fire or a flood, they are fine. We transfer films from the early 1950's 60's & 70's all the time, that are in excellent shape most of the time.
Question: "I am not sure what is on the reels or what order they are in.. I want to find a projector and review them.
Answer: No need to, we have a process that can get them in proper order. If they are blank, there is no charge. If the films are on larger reels 5 inch to 7 inches across, Someone already edited them in the past. Many Customers are under the impression that their films are the "Oldest" and "Probably not any good." Transfer Companies want you to believe that, they can do a terrible job and you will never know, so when you get them back, your thrilled anything came out at all. After seeing Relatives on your video you have not seen in 50 years, the content overwhelms the quality. Granted, the Color if the first to fade a-bit, but usually stabilizes after several years. We Color Correct, Computer Enhance Image and Choreographed Music of the time period and region filmed in. other companies do not, they don't take the time or have the proper equipment because they are a "transfer company" not a "video & film production" company.
A RECENT EXPERIENCE: We transferred 1000 foot reel of 16mm film found under a house in Chicago. (see DEMO here, "Great Grandpa goes to the Horse Track") Films are cleaned & re-spliced before transfer. Came out great! no problems. The Film was of the family that lived in the house. The House was passed down from generation to generation The films was from 1924 to 1929.
